Karimnagar: Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy said on Thursday that if the police wanted to invoke the Preventive Detention (PD) Act, it should in fact be invoked against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

A total of 89 cases were registered against the Chief Minister, against whom the first cheating case was registered way back in 2002. Revanth Reddy had mentioned it in his election affidavit as well.

However, after the Congress came to power, as part of its vendetta politics, 28 cases were registered against him this year only, Kaushik Reddy told reporters here on Thursday as he reached the court to submit sureties.

The State government was registering illegal cases against BRS leaders and workers since BRS working president KT Rama Rao and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao were mounting pressure on the government for implementation of the six guarantees promised before the elections by the Congress party.

Though there was no corruption in the Formula-E race case, Anti-Corruption Bureau had registered a case against Rama Rao. If the CM was sincere, why were the photographs of the Formula-E CEO meeting him kept secret, Kaushik Reddy asked.

Revanth Reddy, who came to power by promising six guarantees, forgot his assurances after coming to power and was registering illegal cases on BRS leaders for pressurising the government for implementation of promises.
