Hyderabad: The newly elected MLCs K Kavitha and K Damodar Reddy took oath as members of the Telangana State Legislative Council here on Wednesday. The Council Pro-tem Chairman Syed Amin Ul Hasan Jafri administered the oath to the new MLCs, in the presence of Legislative Affairs Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy.
The Council Pro-tem Chairman handed over the rule books and identity cards to the new MLCs on the occasion and congratulated them.
Ministers Mohd Mahmood Ali, Satyavathi Rathod, MPs BB Patil, KR Suresh Reddy, Rythu Bandhu Samithi chairman Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, MLAs Ganesh Bigala, Shakeel Ahmed, Sanjay Kumar, MLCs Gangadhar Goud, Farooq Hussain, T Bhanuprasad Rao, MS Prabhakar Rao, L Ramana and the Legislative Assembly secretary Narsimhacharyulu along with former MLCs M Sreenivas Reddy, Naradasu Laxman, and GHMC former Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and others participated in the oath-taking ceremony.
On the occasion, Kavitha thanked TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao as well as the party leaders for giving her an opportunity to serve as MLC representing Nizamabad Local Authorities’ Constituency. She also thanked the local body representatives for reposing their faith in her candidature and electing her unopposed.
