Hyderabad: MLC K Kavitha on Thursday felicitated Sandhya Rasakatla, who recently created history by becoming the first woman in the Indian mining sector to be awarded with the Underground Second Class Manager’s Certificate Competency.

Kavitha had earlier lauded Sandhya’s accomplishment in a tweet, saying: “Ms Sandhya has created history by becoming the first woman in the Indian mining sector to be awarded Underground Second Class Manager’s Certificate Competency. It fills our hearts with pride to see the heights that women of our State are achieving. May you shine& rise.#Singareni”.


The Nizamabad MLC honoured Sandhya at her office by felicitating her for her incredible achievement. Kavitha, under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, has been in the forefront of ensuring the best for Singareni mine workers. The MLC had also stood by them recently when she led a protest against the privatisation of 42 coal mines by the Centre. In her conversation with Sandhya, Kavitha said she was immensely proud of this daughter from Singareni and that she will always stand by her.
