Hyderabad: The suspension of BRS MLA and former Minister G Jagadish Reddy from the Telangana Assembly has sparked outrage, with senior BRS leaders terming it an attack on democracy.
They warned that such unilateral actions would not go unnoticed by the people and vowed to intensify their fight against the Congress government’s misrule.
BRS MLC K Kavitha strongly condemned the decision, questioning the Congress government’s intolerance toward opposition voices.
“How can leaders without patience and intolerance bring the change that they promised? Will MLAs be expelled for raising public issues? Is the Assembly no longer a place for discussing the government’s failures?” she asked, charging the government with using suspension as a tool to divert attention from a debate.
She demanded an immediate revocation of Jagadish Reddy’s suspension.
Former Minister and senior MLA P Sabitha Indra Reddy also termed the suspension cruel and undemocratic.
She blamed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for attempting to silence the opposition leaders to avoid accountability.
“Jagadish Reddy was suspended without any valid reason. This is nothing but a murder of democracy,” she said.
