Hyderabad: BRS MLC K Kavitha welcomed the decision of Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) to deny permission for the controversial Godavari–Banakacharla project, calling it a major win for Telangana Jagruthi and the BRS party. She criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for allegedly siding with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and charged him with compromising Telangana’s water rights.

Kavitha urged Revanth Reddy to act in the State’s interest and press the Centre to convene an Apex Council meeting immediately. She asserted that no clearance should be given for the Godavari-Banakacharla project until Telangana’s rightful share of 968 TMC from the Godavari basin is allocated in a project-wise manner.
