KCR, BRS leaders condole demise of veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao

Hyderabad: BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, working president KT Rama Rao, and several other BRS leaders condoled the demise of veteran actor and former MLA Kota Srinivasa Rao. They remembered the actor’s towering legacy in movies and public life, stating that his demise was a great loss for the people of the Telugu States.
Chandrashekhar Rao expressed profound sorrow over the veteran actor’s demise, describing him as a distinguished artist who captivated audiences with his versatility. He said Kota Srinivasa Rao cemented his place in the hearts of the Telugu audience with memorable performances. “His death is a great loss to Indian cinema,” he said, praying for peace to Srinivasa Rao and extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and fans.
KT Rama Rao remembered Kota Srivinasa Rao as an extraordinary actor who had left an indelible mark on Telugu cinema. “His roles range from villainy to comedy to emotional depth, which remains unmatched. His contribution of over 750 films across four decades is nothing short of monumental in Telugu cinema,” he said. He stated that the actor had not only won several awards, including Padma Shri, nine Nandi awards and several others, but also won the hearts of people of Telugu States.
He also reminded Kota Srinivasa Rao’s role as a public representative, having served as an MLA from Vijayawada East in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, and extended condolences to his family and admirers.
Former Minister T Harish Rao hailed Kota Srinivasa Rao as a rare talent whose performances struck a chord across generations. “Kota Srinivasa Rao was a unique actor whose work transcended genres. His loss is deeply felt not only by his fans but by the film fraternity at large,” he said. He offered his condolences to the family and fans.
Former Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav expressed shock over the passing of the veteran actor, terming it unfortunate. Recalling Kota Srinivasa Rao’s recognition with the Padma Shri and nine Nandi Awards, he stated that the versatile actor earned a special place in Telugu cinema through his dedication to his craft. He felt that the actor’s death marked the end of a significant chapter in Telugu cinema.
Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra also paid tribute, calling Kota Srinivasa Rao’s death an irreplaceable loss to the industry. He said Srinivasa Rao earned the love of audiences through the power of his performances. “We have lost a truly great actor,” he said.
