Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan lashed out at the Congress government, calling the Elkathurthy meeting a referendum against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s rule.

He asserted that the public meeting was just a trailer and the BRS will now question the Congress government at every juncture and every failure over next three-and-half years. He stated that the massive turnout proved whom the people of the State trust.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, Sravan charged the Congress with betraying Telangana despite granting statehood, supporting Chandrashekhar Rao’s remarks of Congress as “villain number one” for the State.

“Just because the British gave Independence, should we be indebted to them? Though the UPA government delivered Telangana, how could the Congress wash off its sins committed over decades?” he asked.

The BRS MLC took a jibe at the Ministers who countered the BRS chief’s remarks, ridiculing them for reading scripts prepared by Revanth Reddy. Hitting out at the government for failing to implement its six guarantees even after 16 months in power, he charged that schemes like free bus services were misleading.

He said the public turnout at the meeting was giving Revanth Reddy nightmares. He thanked the people for massive turnout at Elkathurthy despite obstacles reportedly created by police, calling it a testament to Chandrashekhar Rao’s enduring charisma.
