Hyderabad: BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao extended heartfelt wishes to people of Telangana on the occasion of Christmas on Wednesday.

He emphasised the importance of Jesus Christ’s teachings which influenced the world, hailing him as an icon of sacrifice and non-violence who sought forgiveness even for those who crucified him unjustly.

In a statement on Tuesday, Chandrashekhar Rao said Christ’s message of patience and forgiveness is a timeless pathway to peace, applicable to anyone striving for global harmony. He noted that Christ’s life serves as a guide to overcome hatred and selfishness, fostering compassion and understanding that would enhance human relations.

The former Chief Minister also underscored the BRS government’s commitment to religious harmony, citing its efforts to promote the Ganga-Jamuna tehzeeb in Telangana.

He pointed out that numerous welfare and development programmes for Christian minorities were implemented under his leadership, setting an example for the nation.

He reminded that the previous BRS government initiated the tradition of celebrating Christmas officially, as part of its efforts to promote inclusivity and equality among all faiths.
