Addressing the gathering after unveiling the Statue of Dr BR Ambedkar at Dharmareddypally village in Gajwel Mandal on Wednesday, Harish Rao said that they have also come up with several programmes to create self-employment opportunities to unemployed Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

In memory of Ambedkar, Rao said that the Chief Minister has decided to build the tallest Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund in Hyderabad.

With an aim to give political opportunities to SC and ST women, the Minister said his government has provided reservations to SC and ST women in market committee elections in Telangana.

Hailing Dr BR Ambedkar as a visionary and Messiah of the backward classes in India, Rao said Dr Ambedkar had provided the right to vote for all sections, besides framing the best political administration system in the world.

Since Ambedkar had underlined the importance of the farming of smaller States, the Minister, who played a vital role in the 14-year long Telangana movement, said that his observations paved the way for Telangana’s formation too.

Earlier, he garlanded the Statue of Dr BR Ambedkar in Gajwel town to mark his 130th birth anniversary.

Later, the Minister also participated in celebrations in Siddipet town along with Collector Siddipet P Venkatrami Reddy who garlanded the Statue of Dr Ambedkar in the town.

The birth anniversary of the ‘Chief Architect of the Indian Constitution’ was celebrated across the district on a grand note.
