Sangareddy: Sangareddy MLA and BRS district president Chintha Prabhakar said BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao had forced the Centre to announce the formation of a separate Telangana on December 9, 2009.
Addressing the gathering after garlanding the statue of Telangana Thalli to mark Vijay Diwas celebrations in Sangareddy town on Tuesday, the MLA said the people of Telangana would not have realised the dream of a separate State if Chandrashekhar Rao had not launched his fast unto death on November 29 the same year. The BRS MLA and party cadres distributed fruits in government hospitals to mark the day. They also performed annadhana on the hospital premises.
BRS leaders across the erstwhile Medak district celebrated Vijay Diwas in a grand way, recalling the efforts the BRS supremo put in to force the Centre to allow a separate Telangana.
