KCR, KTR extend greetings to people for Basaveshwara Jayanti

In his statement, Chandrashekhar Rao hailed Basavanna as a visionary who defied caste, colour, and gender-based discrimination through both his teachings and his actions. He described Basaveshwara as a social reformer who championed equality and public welfare by blending spiritual wisdom with progressive governance. “His ideals transcend time and continue to inspire generations,” he remarked.

Hyderabad: BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao extended greetings to the people of Telangana on the occasion of Basaveshwara Jayanti. He paid rich tributes to the 12th-century social reformer and founder of the Veerashaiva Lingayat tradition.

In a statement, Chandrashekhar Rao remembered Basavanna as a visionary who challenged caste, colour, and gender discrimination through his teachings and actions. He praised Basaveshwara as a revolutionary who worked for social equality and public welfare through spiritual discourse and progressive governance. “His ideals are timeless and serve as a guiding light for all generations,” he said.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao also extended wishes to people and remembered Basaveshwara as a pioneer of social justice. He cited Basavanna’s famous principle that “the body is the temple and there is no God greater than work.” He said Basaveshwara’s teachings on equality, honesty, and dignity of labour should continue to inspire efforts toward building a just and inclusive society. He urged citizens to draw inspiration from Basavanna’s ideals and work collectively to eliminate discrimination and inequality.
