KCR mourns former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy’s death

BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao and working president KT Rama Rao expressed grief over the death of former Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, recalling his role in the Telangana movement and assuring support to his family during the difficult time

Hyderabad: BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed deep shock and grief over the death of former Narsampet MLA and senior party leader Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, describing him as a close friend and a fellow activist in the Telangana movement.

In a statement, Chandrashekhar Rao recalled their association during the final phase of the Telangana movement, particularly their joint efforts in the erstwhile Warangal district. He said the party and doctors made every possible effort to save Sudarshan Reddy, but in vain.

The BRS chief termed Sudarshan Reddy’s political journey exemplary and said it was driven by his commitment to Telangana, principles and public life. He recalled the efforts of the former MLA in turning erstwhile Warangal, especially Narsampet constituency, into a stronghold of the Telangana movement.

“From the days of the movement until his last breath, Peddi walked under the party’s flag,” he said, adding that he had left an indelible mark on both the movement and the development of his constituency.

Chandrashekhar Rao recalled Sudarshan Reddy’s courage in facing police pressure, non-bailable cases and imprisonment during the movement. He said the senior BRS leader’s commitment, courage and services would remain etched in the memories of party workers and the people of Narsampet.

Describing his death as an irreparable loss to the BRS, he assured that the party would stand by Sudarshan Reddy’s wife and children. He also urged party workers in Narsampet to remain strong during this difficult time.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao also expressed grief and shock over the demise of Sudarshan Reddy. He said he had hoped the former MLA would recover and return to public life after undergoing treatment. He called Sudarshan Reddy’s role in the Telangana movement memorable and irreplaceable. He said his commitment to the movement’s ideals, public causes and strengthening the party would be remembered.

Rama Rao said Sudarshan Reddy’s death was an irreparable loss not only to the BRS but also to Telangana society. He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and followers and prayed that they would find the strength to overcome the loss. He will attend the funeral to be held at 3 pm in Nallebelli village of Narsampet constituency.
