KCR pays tribute to Prof K Jayashankar on birth anniversary
On the birth anniversary of Telangana ideologue Prof. K. Jayashankar, BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao paid heartfelt tributes, emphasising Jayashankar’s pivotal role in the statehood movement.

Hyderabad: BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao paid rich tributes to Telangana ideologue Prof K Jayashankar, marking his birth anniversary on Wednesday. He remembered Jayashankar’s contributions to Telangana and recalled their personal and political association over the decades.
Describing Prof Jayashankar as the intellectual force behind the Telangana statehood movement, Chandrashekhar Rao lauded his unwavering ideological commitment and specific-action strategy that laid the foundation for the State’s formation.
“His contribution to the movement was invaluable. His advice gave me immense courage to lead the agitation,” he said.
Remembering the Telangana ideologue’s crucial role, he said Jayashankar’s guidance helped shape the movement’s tactics in accordance with prevailing political conditions.
“He stood by me at every stage. His dream was not only to achieve statehood but also to see a progressive Telangana,” he added.
The former Chief Minister asserted that the BRS government fulfilled Jayashankar’s vision during its ten-year rule, transforming Telangana into a model State with path-breaking welfare and development initiatives.
“Fulfilling his aspirations and carrying forward his spirit is our true homage,” he remarked.
