Siddipet: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who inaugurated Mallanna Sagar project by switching on the pump sets at Tukkapur in Thoguta Mandal on Wednesday, visited the Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy temple at Komuravelly to perform Abhisekham to the presiding deity with Godavari water.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the project, the Chief Minister said he had taken a vow to perform abhisekham to the presiding deity of Komuravelly temple after completing Mallanna Sagar. To redeem his promise, Chandrashekhar Rao went straight to Koumravelly from Mallanna Sagar to perform abhishekham. After offering prayers at the temple and performing abishekham with Godavari water, he spent 10 minutes on the premises of the temple.
Stating that Mallanna Sagar was named after Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy, Finance Minister T Harish Rao said Wednesday is considered an auspicious day in Mallanna temple. Pointing out that the irrigation project was inaugurated on an auspicious day, the Minister said Chandrashekhar Rao sought the blessings of the presiding deity and his consorts.
