Siddipet: Scheduled Caste organisations and TRS leaders across Sangareddy, Siddipet and Medak districts praised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for coming up with the Dalit Empowerment Programme and allocating Rs 1,200 crore fund for it.

In 37th ward of Siddipet Municipality, Councilor Saki Bala Lakshmi and other TRS leaders offered Palabishekham to the Chief Minister and Finance Minister T Harish Rao’s portraits on Monday.

Saying that Telangana government will grant Rs 10 lakhs to each of beneficiaries under the scheme, Bala Lakshmi said the State government will select 100 beneficiaries from each of the 119 Assembly constituencies across Telangana.

In a press statement, Andole MLA Chanti Kranthi Kiran said the government will appoint a Mandal level SC Development office across the State to monitor and execute the schemes related to SCs. He further said the SCs will have their quota in tenders such as wine shops, canteens in government hospitals and other government institutions.

The MLA hailed the Chief Minister for coming up with such a wonderful programme that would transform the lives of backward SCs.
