Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) will appear before the Justice P.C. Ghose Commission on June 11, in connection with the ongoing probe into the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).
KCR’s deposition was originally scheduled for June 5, but was postponed at his request, citing scheduling conflicts.
The six-member inquiry panel, headed by retired Supreme Court judge Justice P.C. Ghose, was constituted in March 2024 to investigate allegations of irregularities, cost escalations, and design flaws in the multi-purpose irrigation project. So far, the commission has examined technical details, construction standards, and has questioned several officials, engineers, and contractors involved with the KLIP.
Alongside KCR, the panel has also summoned former BRS Ministers Etala Rajender (June 6) and T Harish Rao (June 9), who held key portfolios during the KLIP’s execution.
