Sangareddy: Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao vowed to change the face of backward Narayankhed, Zaheerabad and Andole constituencies with Sangameshwara Lift Irrigation Project (SLIP) and Basaveshwara Lift Irrigation Project (BLIP).
Addressing a meeting of party leaders and cadre in Narayankhed after inspecting the place identified for the Chief Minister’s public meeting near Narayankhed, the Minister called upon the leaders to mobile people in large numbers for the public meeting on February 21. Since SLIP and BLIP will benefit Andole, Sangareddy, Narayankhed and Zaheerabad Assembly Constituencies, Harish Rao appointed in-charges for these four constituencies and each and every mandal under these constituencies to oversee the mobilisation of cadre for the Chief Minister’s meeting.
Stating that utilising the Manjeera water for irrigation purposes in Sangareddy was a major election issue before Statehood, the Minister said the Andhra rulers used to take Manjeera water to Hyderabad while using Godavari and Krishna waters for irrigation purposes in Andhra area. “Chandrashekhar Rao, however, quickly changed everything after the State was created in 2014. While the State government was successfully supplying irrigation water to 40,000 acres under Singur project, the Chief Minister decided to provide irrigation water to over four lakh acres in these four constituencies by spending Rs 4,400 crore,” he said.
He further said the Chief Minister was committed to complete the project within two years from now. In another meeting at Andole, Harish Rao lashed out at BJP for ignoring Telangana. While Chandrashekar Rao was making all efforts for development of Telangana, Harish Rao said the union government had failed to give national status to even a single irrigation project during the past eight years even despite repeated appeals by Telangana. Stating that Telangana had come up with a host of the welfare and development projects in past eight years, the Minister has said that the Centre had copied a few of them while the BJP ruled states never even tried to replicate such works in their own states.
Andole MLA Chanti Kranthi Kiran has said Andole Constituency is going to benefit the maximum with these projects as the Constituency, spread in Sangareddy and Medak districts, will get irrigation water for about 2 lakh acres through SLIP, BLIP and Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) 19-a package.
Harish Rao held similar meetings in Zaheerabad, and Sangareddy Constituencies on Wednesday evening. Zilla Parishad Chiarperson P Manjusri, MLA Ch Madan Reddy, M Bhupal Reddy, K Manik Rao, TRS District President Chintha Prabhakar and others were present.
Water will be released from RanganayakaSagar on KCR’s birthday

With summer setting in, the release of water into tanks will bring back smiles on the faces of farmers as the ground water level had started depleting slowly in Siddipet district.

With the Chief Minister keeping his word, there can’t be a better occasion than ChandrashekharRao’s birthday to release water from the project, he said. RanganayakaSagar was built at Chinnakodur as part of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) fourth link. The project with three TMCft of storage capacity now has 2.7TMCft of wter.HarishRao said the water will meet the needs of Yasangi season.
