Hyderabad: The Fire Department has requested the police to barricade the area wherever fire breaks out to prevent public interference in their work.

“We have faced problems from the public during fire fighting. While we are busy trying to control the blaze, some unauthorised person comes and gives us directions on how to combat the fire,” said an official.

There have been instances when people had snatched away pipes from the fire fighters and tried to douse the fire. “We are trained people, and aware of the techniques of fire fighting. Civilians should not disturb us during our work,” another fire official requested.

The firemen requested the police to keep the crowds away from the spot of fire and barricade the area to allow fire fighting vehicles and equipment to reach the spot quickly.
