Hyderabad: Keerthi Ganta of Pragathi Central School clinched the 7th Telangana State Women Chess Championship title held at Wushu Hall in the LB Stadium on Monday.
She was unbeaten in the tournament and drew with Yashvi Jain in the final round to grab the title with six points from seven rounds. Abhirami Madabhushi and Shaati Majumder also drew their match and settled for second and third places respectively.
On another board, Velpula Sarayu beat Sevithaviju to seal the fourth place. The top four players will represent Telangana State in the upcoming National Women Chess Championship to be held at KITS, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
