Guruvayur: Kerala Chief Minister VD Satheesan on Sunday visited the famous Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple here and offered prayers.

The chief minister also performed the traditional ‘tulabharam’ ritual using butter as an offering, according to a post shared by the Guruvayur Devaswom on Facebook.

This was the chief minister’s first visit to the temple after assuming office, it said.

Satheesan reached the temple around 7 am and was received by Devaswom chairman AV Gopinath and administrator OB Arun Kumar. The Devaswom chairman welcomed him by presenting a shawl, it said.

Around 71 kg of butter was used for the tulabharam offering, the post said.

The chief minister is a regular devotee who visits the temple once every month, it added.

Later, Satheesan also attended the wedding ceremony of the son of Revenue Minister AP Anil Kumar at the shrine premises.
