S Raj Kumar, a member of the Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Committee, said the puja will be held on June 25 at 5 pm. The height and theme of the idol will be announced on the same day.
The committee has been performing the ‘Karra Puja’ over the past several years ahead of starting work on the idol at the pandal. Raj Kumar said that soon after the puja, work will begin on the outline of the idol using wooden logs, followed by moulding with iron and internal scaffolding for the main structure of the idol.
The Ganesh Utsav Committee completed 71 years of journey and this year entered into 72nd year. Every year, the committee announces a different theme for the Ganesh idol.
In 2025, the theme for the Khairatabad Ganesh was ‘Vishwashanti Mahashakti Ganapati’, with a concept of ’’Operation Sindoor.’ The height of the idol was 71-ft.
