Khaki shirts distributed to auto drivers in Khammam railway station

Khammam: Khaki shirts were distributed free of cost to autorickshaw drivers at Khammam railway station here on Thursday in memory of Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao’s father Nama Muthaiah and mother Varalakshmi.
The shirts were distributed to nearly 100 auto drivers by the district Rythu Bandhu Samithi convener Nallamala Venkateshwar Rao and TRS leader Maddineni Baby Swarna Kumari under the aegis of Nama Muthaiah Trust.
Speaking on the occasion, Venkateshwar Rao said the MP has been donating the shirts to hamalis and auto-rickshaw drivers in both Khammam and Kothagudem districts for the past few years. The shirts sewn by a reputed clothes manufacturing company were of good quality.
The TRS leader Swarna Kumari said the MP has been carrying out many charitable works in honour of his parents through the trust to help the needy. During Covid lockdown, the trust donated free hand sanitisers and masks worth crores of rupees to public health facilities.
Khaki shirts were being distributed to porters and auto-rickshaw drivers since 2009 and so far distributed shirts to nearly 66,000 porters and auto drivers in erstwhile Khammam district, she added.
The auto drivers who received the shirts thanked the MP for his kind gesture. TRSKV leader Kasani Nageshwar Rao, its Auto Union leader N Ramesh, Nama Seva Samithi president Palvancha Rajesh and others were present.
