Khammam: The beneficiaries of double bedroom houses at the KCR Towers at Tekulapalli in Khammam have thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for providing them houses. At a programme at Tekulapalli on Monday, Muslim beneficiaries, who received title deeds of the houses on Dasara, performed ‘Palabhishekam’ to the Chief Minister’s portrait as a mark of gratitude.

The beneficiaries along with SUDA Chairman, Bachu Vijay Kumar, Deputy Mayor Fatima Zohara, District Library Chairman MA Qamar, TRS minority wing district president Md Tajuddin and TRS Khammam city president P Nagaraju also performed ‘Palabhishekam’ to the portraits of Ministers, KT Rama Rao and P Ajay Kumar.


Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Kumar and Qamar said the TRS government was giving priority to minorities’ welfare and around 470 Muslim beneficiaries were given double bedroom houses of the total 1,008 houses built at Tekulapalli.

The SUDA Chairman said IT, Municipal Administration Minister Rama Rao wanted the houses to be built with quality and with all basic facilities. Following his directions, Transport Minister Ajay Kumar regularly monitored the house’s construction.

The KCR Towers was equipped with facilities such as park, open gym, Mission Bhagiratha water, internal roads, drains, street lights, fencing, a primary health centre, mini Anganwadi centre.
It was planned to spend around Rs 3 crore for setting up a police outpost , sub-station and installing CCTV cameras. A KCR Towers Welfare Association would also be set up for the maintenance of the houses, he added.

Speaking to media persons, a beneficiary and resident of KCR Towers, Farhana Zabin said that no government in the past cared about the poor minorities. “Now we got a double bedroom house because of Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao and I am thankful to him”, she said.

She also thanked Minister Rama Rao and Ajay Kumar for ensuring all the facilities adding that all the beneficiaries living at KCR Towner were happy and the government also provided title deeds of the houses.

Corporator Maqbool, former corporator Shoukat Ali, TRS leaders Shaik Shakeena, Md Fayaz, Md Saleem Ahmed, Jakkula Lakshmaiah, D Subba Rao and others were present.
