Khammam: A 53 year old man has allegedly attempted to rape a minor girl at Tekulapalli in Khammam on Thursday. According to police, the accused was identified as Veeramallu Venkanna, a fruit vendor residing at KCR Towers at Tekulapalli. A 11 year minor girl residing at the same towers went to collect fruits at a nearby field.
On seeing the girl alone Venkanna tried to abuse the girl sexually. As the girl shouted for help the locals rushed to the spot, caught the man and beat him up. Later they handed him over to police, who arrested him and booked a case against him.
