Khammam: A human rights activist from Khammam, Mohammed Farah, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the World Human Rights Protection Commission (WHRPC).
She was presented the honour at a ceremony at Indian International Center (IIC) in New Delhi on Sep 26, said a release here on Tuesday. She has also been awarded the WHRPC international honorary membership.

Farah said she received the honor in recognition of her efforts towards women’s empowerment and for protection of their rights. It may be recalled that she was first runner up in ‘VPR Mrs. India 2021 Beauty Pageant Season 2 Contest’ organised for married women in Gujarat in February.
Eminent sociologist Medha Patkar, former Supreme Court Justice Desai, Prof. DP Mishra, former Goa CM, Francisco Sardinha, WHPRC international director Dr. Abhinav Hota, Secretary Maxim Sengiyumwa and International Chairman Tapan Kumar Routare and others attended the ceremony.
