Khammam: Former MP Nama Nageswara Rao strongly condemned the attack on the MLA camp office of Telangana’s first Chief Minister and Gajwel MLA K Chandrashekhar Rao at Gajwel.
In a statement here on Saturday, he expressed outrage at the incident, stating that such attacks on the offices of elected public representatives were a blot on democracy. Political differences should not escalate into violence and such incidents are unacceptable.
Nageswara Rao questioned the safety of common people if even government properties were subjected to vandalism. The government should immediately identify those responsible for the attack and take strict action against them, he demanded.
Kothagudem BRS district president Rega Kantha Rao described the attack by Congress goons on the camp office of Chandrashekhar Rao as a heinous act. It was sad that the police could not even provide security to a former Chief Minister’s camp office.
The police, who stood by as mere spectators while the attack was underway, must at least now register cases and punish the culprits. It was unacceptable that the police personnel present at the scene failed to make even a minimal attempt to intervene and stop the attack.
The Congress party’s days were numbered; that was why they were acting so recklessly. The Revanth Reddy government’s agenda was nothing more than demolition, destruction and aggression.
As time passed, a sense of unease was brewing within Revanth Reddy’s camp. Unable to fulfil their electoral promises, Congress leaders and party workers were losing credibility in the eyes of the public; hence, they were resorting to attacks on the opposition, Kantha Rao said.
