Khammam: BRS cadres took to the streets across erstwhile Khammam on Tuesday against the Congress government’s malicious campaign against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and Kaleshwaram project.
At the call of BRS working president KT Rama Rao, party city wing president Pagadala Nagaraju, senior leaders RJC Krishna, Bachu Vijay Kumar, Qamar and others staged a dharna at Ambedkar centre. Speaking on the occasion, the leaders alleged that the Congress and BJP had colluded to damage the BRS. The party cadres would expose their attempts to defame the BRS by constituting false enquiry commissions.
The Revanth Reddy government was meting out injustice to the poor and all sections by forgetting to implement its six guarantees, the leaders said. Tension prevailed for some time. The police disrupted the protest and took them to different police stations in the city.
In Kothagudem, BRS Laxmidevipally mandal president Kotti Venkateswara Rao led a protest at the mandal headquarters against the Congress government’s stance on the Kaleshwaram project. The party Sujatha Nagar mandal leaders Battula Veeraiah and L Satyanarayana Naik and other staged a protest at Ambedkar statue.
