Khammam: A massive rally was taken out in Khammam by the district BRS ranks on Thursday in solidarity with the farmers whose lands were being acquired for the Pharma Village project at Lagacherla in Kodangal Assembly constituency.

The rally was taken out from pavilion grounds to Ambedkar statue at ZP centre. BRS district president, MLC Tatha Madhusudhan, MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, former minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, former MLA S Venkata Veeraiah and former ZP chairman of Lingala Kamal Raju took part in the rally.Addressing the gathering, the BRS leaders demanded the Congress government to withdraw illegal cases filed against farmers. They strongly condemned the government action of forcefully acquiring the lands of tribal farmers on the pretext of land acquisition.

Hitting out at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for his comments against former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the leaders warned that Chandrashekhar Rao was a stalwart leader and Revanth Reddy could not touch him.

The name of Chandrashekhar Rao would remain among the people as long as Telangana exists, none could erase his name from the hearts of the public. The Revanth Reddy government which failed to deliver its election promises has been resorting to diversion politics and targetting the opposition parties for questioning its failures.

Dissent against the government becoming visible and the people were upset with the government’s undemocratic approach towards their issues. The government should obtain the consent of Lagacherla farmers to acquire their lands, the leaders insisted.

BRS city president Pagadala Nagaraju, The party senior leaders Gundala Krishna, K Nagabhushanam, Bommera Rammurthy and others took part in the rally, besides a large number of tribal farmers, Lambada community leaders and BRS activists.
