Khammam: College girls on Thursday took up a postcard movement in several places across Khammam as a mark of protest against Congress government’s failure to deliver on its ‘scooty guarantee’ given during the Assembly elections.

During the elections, the Congress party had promised to provide free scooty to young women above 18 years of age. However, even after 13 months of the government coming to power there has been no announcement from the government on its promise, girls said.

As part of the protest, the students visited post offices to send postcards to the government offices to take their demand to the attention of the government. The students warned that if the government failed to deliver the promise, the protests would be intensified.
