Khammam: A young entrepreneur of Khammam, Sree Teja Deeti, who is engaged in manufacturing eco-friendly products with his startup, has been shining on the global stage.
He founded Renavart Recyclers India Private Limited in 2022 and Vistar Leaf in 2023. Vistar Leaf produces eco sustainable leaf plates and bowls used to serve food in marriages and other ceremonies and Renavart is an e-waste management and recycling company.
In recognition of his efforts towards environmental protection and support to rural-tribal communities, he has been honoured with ‘Excellence in Plastic Recycling and Sustainability Leader Award’ at PolyNext Conference-2025 held in Dubai on October 2.
Sree Teja, who obtained a Master of Environmental Engineering and Pollution Control degree from Griffith University, Australia, told Telangana Today that Vistar Leaf aims to address the environmental, social and economic impacts of single-use plastic disposal products such as plates and bowls.
The firm makes eco-sustainable dinnerware with Butea monosperma (Moduga or Palash) and Bauhinia Vahlii (Addaku) leaves. Vistar Leaf is rooted in circular economy local sourcing and rural empowerment and implements a zero-waste policy.
The startup supports tribal and rural women of self-help groups from the coastline of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Every month over 150,000 leafs would be bought from them with each one getting an average income of Rs 12,000. The firm manufactures 10 types of products such as bowls, plates and cups, Sree Teja explained.
By 2028, Vistar Leaf innovation aims to overcome its current use of minimal Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) by transitioning to 100 percent plant-based fibre films to make around two lakh products it makes in a month fully compostable.
Renavart’s aim is to create a sustainable future by restoring non-renewable resources like metals from e-waste procured from startups, universities and companies. Nearly 4500 tons of recycled material sold per annum to manufacturing companies as a raw material to make a new product, he said.
“It is a very momentous occasion to receive the award in Dubai along with my parents, D Sreenivas and Dr G Jaina Bai, both teachers” Sreee Teja noted. He also founded an NGO Khammam Youth Association (KYA) to carry out social service activities.
Vistar Leaf bridges Indian tradition with international demand, offering a scalable, export-worthy model that aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and India’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat mission, he added.
