Khammam girl dies after attempting suicide over alleged harassment by youths

A minor girl from Khammam, who allegedly faced harassment from two youths, died while undergoing treatment at MGM Hospital in Warangal. She had attempted suicide on September 8 by consuming rat poison. Police registered a case following her mother's complaint.

Khammam: A minor girl who attempted suicide after being allegedly harassed by two youths at KCR Towers in Khammam city died while undergoing treatment at MGM Hospital in Warangal.

According to sources, the girl, who worked as a salesgirl at a supermarket in Rotary Nagar, was befriended by the youths, Pavan and his friend Aman, who allegedly harassed her under the guise of love.

Unable to bear their harassment, the girl attempted suicide on September 8 by consuming rat poison. Family members alleged that the girl was harassed by the youths using AI-generated photos and messages.

After receiving initial treatment in Khammam, she was shifted to MGM Hospital for advanced medical care. However, she died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment. The girl’s body has been brought back to Khammam from Warangal.

Following a complaint filed by the girl’s mother, the Khammam Urban police registered a case against the accused youths and took up an investigation.
