Khammam: Headmaster booked under POCSO Act suspended

Chava Srinivasa Rao, who was booked under POCSO Act, was accused of misbehaving with girl students of Classes 9 and 10, was suspended from services on Monday.

Khammam: The headmaster of Zilla Parishad Secondary School, Paladugu in Wyra mandal in the district was suspended from services on Monday.

Chava Srinivasa Rao, who was booked under POCSO Act, was accused of misbehaving with girl students of Classes 9 and 10. After the students complained to their parents about his misbehaviour, the parents along with the villagers staged a protest last Saturday.

DEO E Somasekhara Sharma had visited the school and spoke to the parents. He took the matter to the notice of higher officials. Based on the developments and allegations against the headmaster, Regional Joint Director of School Education K Satyanarayana Reddy issued suspension orders.

Besides the POCSO Act, Srinivasa Rao was also booked under BNS Section 75 (sexual harassment), Section 78 (stalking), 7 read with 8, 9 (f) and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 2015.
