Khammam: Khammam Youth Association (KYA), a Khammam-based non-governmental organisation, has donated school kits to students of various government schools. At a programme organised at Bhaktha Ramadasu Kalakshetram here on Friday, MLC A Narsi Reddy, District Employment Officer, K Sree Ram and TS UTF State associate president Ch Durga Bhavani distributed school kits to about 548 students.
The students were selected from Government Primary School, Rajakaveedhi, Mandal Parishad Primary School, Baswapuram in Chintakani mandal, Upper Primary School, Mallannapalem in Mudigonda mandal, Government Primary Schools at Rajendra Nagar, Prakash Nagar and Srinivas Nagar in Khammam. The MLC appreciated the KYA’s efforts to support the students studying in government schools in order to fulfil the United Nations Development Programme’s goal of quality education.
The gesture might look small but it could have a big impact making students learn more efficiently and positively in the pleasant atmosphere of the school, Narsi Reddy said and asking the students to study hard to excel in their lives. The KYA members Sreekanth D, Arjun T and Surya Teja Y informed that the association has planned to take up co-curricular activities such as martial arts, general knowledge classes, set up library, organise science fair to improve positivity in the children for a better future and ensure quality education.
The association had initiated the donation of school kits in the year 2017 and each kit contains a set of notebooks, a school bag, stationery items and a water bottle. KYA members Vikas Ch, T Uday Kiran, Bhanu Prakash G, RangaRao, Sagar V, Nandini Y and others were present.
