Khammam: Khammam Two-town police registered a case against a youth for performing dangerous bike stunts at excessive speeds on city roads.
The Two-town Inspector of Police, Ramakrishna informed in a statement here on Friday that the youth, Valluru Krishna Kishore Reddy, who was found performing bike stunts in a reckless manner near Gattaiah Centre causing fear and alarm among the local residents, has been taken into custody.
Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt directed the Task Force, CCS, Special Branch and local police to take strict action against those involved in unlawful activities such as bike stunts, brandishing of swords in public and holding birthday celebrations on public roads.
Following these directions, the Two-town police conducted checks in various areas to identify and apprehend those performing such stunts and posting them on social media, as they constituted criminal offenses under the law, the Inspector said.
Youngsters must act responsibly; they should avoid impulsive actions that not only endanger their own lives but also pose a threat to the lives of others. Parents, in particular, must not allow their minor children to drive motorcycles.
The parents should closely monitor their children’s daily activities and guide them to stay away from such dangerous and unlawful behaviour. If necessary, legal action would be taken against the parents as well, Ramakrishna warned adding that the public should inform the local police or call 112 if they observe anyone acting in a manner that compromises public safety.
