Khammam: People in Khammam paid tributes to Ratan Tata, chairman Emeritus of Tata Group recalling his visit to Khammam some years ago on a business related tour.

Tata visited the showroom of Telangana Agencies, which sells electrical and electronics goods, at Kaman Bazaar in the city. He visited the showroom, which was established in 1974 and expanded in 1983 by its proprietor late Kalla Rama Rao.

Rama Rao’s son Papa Rao recalling the moments when he interacted with Tata said the latter was very simple and friendly. He said his father was a dealer for Nelco radios manufactured by NELCO Limited (National Radio & Electronics Company), a subsidiary of Tata Group.

Tata visited the showroom in Khammam at the invitation of Rama Rao and spent a day in the city, Papa Rao said.

Former MP Nama Nageswara Rao in a statement here on Thursday condoled the death of India’s legendary industrialist and great humanitarian Ratan Tata. Tata left an indelible mark in the industrial sector of India and he was a role model for the entire country in social service, he said.

Tata not only brought business development, but brought socially conscious business practices and was an inspiration to many entrepreneurs. His work for the poor and weaker sections was priceless and his commitment was a lesson for the youth of India, the ex-MP added.
