Khammam: Sarpanch and his deputy suspended for misuse of funds

Khammam: District Collector RV Karnan has suspended a sarpanch and his deputy of Nayakangudem gram panchayat of Kusumanchi mandal in the district for alleged misuse of funds.
The sarpanch, Kasani Saldulu and deputy sarpanch Kinnera Srikanth have been placed under suspension under section 37(5) of Telangana Panchayat Raj Act-2018 for misappropriation of gram panchayat funds amounting to Rs 59,650 and procedural lapses in drawl of gram panchayat funds amounting to Rs 5,01,068, informed the officials here on Wednesday.
