Hyderabad: The trailer of Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film Kingdom has been released, giving a clear look at the actor’s new role and the world director Gowtam Tinnanuri has created. The film is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on July 31.
In the two-and-a-half-minute cut, Vijay plays Surya, a man drawn into a secret mission against the backdrop of the Sri Lankan Civil War. Action sequences, the bond between two brothers, and the personal cost of the mission form the core of the story. Actor Satyadev who plays Vijay’s brother appears alongside him in an important part.
The trailer stays away from flashy tone and instead focuses on an intense setup. Vijay is seen performing action scenes and emotional sequences, while composer Anirudh Ravichander’s background music adds to the mood. The visuals and staging indicate that the film aims to explore a different timeline and terrain rarely seen in mainstream Telugu cinema.
Actress Bhagyashree Borse, who is playing the female lead, is also seen in the trailer, and her character seems to be a part of the tense world that the director has built.
