Adilabad: Lingampalli Krishna, an ardent barber-turned-wildlife photographer from this town rescued a kingfisher that got stuck in Chinese manja while he was taking photographs of birds in the forests of Neradigonda Thanda in Gudihathnoor mandal on Monday.
Krishna claimed that he spotted the kingfisher as it was wriggling on the ground after being trapped in the dangerous thread meant for flying kites during Sankranthi festival. He stated that he released the bird into the air after freeing it from the thread stuck around its wings.
The photographer had earlier rescued a spotted bill duck and Indian rock eagle when they were entangled in nylon threads of fish nets in irrigation tanks in different parts of the district. He then provided treatment with the help of veterinary doctors before releasing them in the forest.
