Kishan Reddy reviews Hitec City railway station redevelopment works

Hyderabad: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Friday inspected the ongoing redevelopment works at Hitec City railway station and reviewed the progress at key work sites, including the new station building, 12-metre foot over bridge, platforms, and circulating area. He also assessed safety measures being implemented by the construction teams.
Speaking later to the media, Kishan Reddy said railway infrastructure in Telangana is expanding rapidly with 40 stations in the State being redeveloped with modern facilities. He highlighted major ongoing projects including Secunderabad railway station and Hyderabad railway station.
Hitec City railway station is being upgraded at a cost of Rs 25.93 crore under Phase I, with Phase II works worth Rs 10 crore to include renovation of the old station building. The station handles 62 suburban services daily and a footfall of about 5,400 passengers, expected to rise further.
As part of the upgrade, the station will get a wider foot over bridge, additional lifts and escalators, extended platform roofing, more ticket counters, waiting rooms and enhanced Divyangjan facilities.
