Hyderabad: Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy has requested Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to send proposals pertaining to Science City in Hyderabad to the Central government at the earliest.
In a tweet, he said the proposed Science City would provide an immersive learning ambience to inculcate a spirit of inquiry, foster creative talent and create scientific temper in the community as a whole.
I once again request CM KCR to send the proposal at the earliest for the project.
The Central government will provide capital cost for building construction works and expenditure on exhibits, equipment, stores and a corpus fund. This was to be done as a part of the Society for Promotion of Culture of Science under the Ministry of Culture, he said.
Hyderabad is a hub for cutting-edge science and technology research with several world-famous research institutes and is often called the “City of Science.”
Several national institutes like Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) and Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) were in Hyderabad.
