KITS Warangal faculty member receives PhD from JNTUH
KITSW Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy said that Prakash had submitted his PhD thesis titled “Power Quality Improvement Using Multi Energy Storage Systems”.

Warangal Urban: Prakash Vodapalli, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), was awarded PhD degree by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad.
In a press note here on Tuesday, KITSW Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy said that Prakash had submitted his PhD thesis titled “Power Quality Improvement Using Multi Energy Storage Systems”. He did his research work under the supervision of S Tara Kalyani, Professor of EEE and Controller of Examinations, JNTUH, and Dr T Rama Subba Reddy, Professor and Head of EEE, Vignan Institute of Tech and Science (VITS), Hyderabad.
“Having 20 years teaching experience, Prakash developed the approach for mitigating the various power quality issues in the distribution systems. The aim of the thesis is to develop an enhanced method using UPQC with different energy storage systems to address various power quality problems and reducing the total harmonic distortion as per IEEE standards and improving the power factor of the distributed systems,” he added.
KITSW Secretary and Correspondent Capt V Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P Narayana Reddy, Professor and HoD, EEE C Venkatesh, Dean Academic Affairs Prof V Rajagopal and senior professor V Ramaiah, Associate Professor and PRO Dr D Prabhakara Chary and others have congratulated him on being awarded a PhD degree by doing a more applicable society needed research in the field of electrical engineering.
