Warangal Urban: Prof Rajagopal Veeramalla, Dean, Academic Affairs, and Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), was granted a patent for an invention titled “A Hydropower System” for a term of 20 years in accordance with the provisions of the Patents Act-1970, said KITS Secretary and Correspondent Capt V Lakshmikantha Rao.
In a press note released here on Wednesday, Lakshmikantha Rao (MP, Rajya Sabha) said that the patent was granted by the Patent Office, Government of India.
Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy said V Rajagopal, a PhD degree holder from the IIT, Delhi, had developed a decoupled electronic load controller for hydropower system using conductance algorithm, which decouples the active and reactive power, which avoids the de-rating of the generator and improves the life of machine.
KITSW Treasurer P Narayana Reddy, HoD, EEE, C Venkatesh, Associate Professor and PRO D Prabhakara Chary and others have congratulated and appreciated him on obtaining the patent.
