Warangal: R Srikanth, an assistant professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science-Warangal (KITSW) was awarded the PhD degree by Kakatiya University (KU) Warangal.
KITSW Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy said Srikanth submitted the thesis titled ‘Effiecient Image Segmentation Approaches Using Optimisation Techniques’. He did his research work under the supervision of Dr Kalagadda Bikshalu, Associate Professor of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Kakatiya University (KU) Warangal.
“The new image segmentation approaches proposed by Srikanth are much useful in identifying fine details from medical and satellite images. The research work is related to Image and Signal Processing,” Prof Reddy added.
Srikanth hails from Fort Warangal (East) in Warangal district.
KITSW Secretary and Correspondent Capt V Lakshmikantha Rao, Treasurer P Narayana Reddy, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology, KU, Prof T Srinivasulu and other faculty congratulated Srikanth for obtaining the PhD degree by doing research which is useful for society useful in the field of electronics engineering.
