Even though there was propaganda that the Kaleshwaram project wouldn't work, it has turned Telangana into a green paradise
Hyderabad: Highlighting the importance of the Kaleshwaram project for the State and the Hyderabad city in particular, the BRS Working President, K T Rama Rao on Saturday pointed out that despite the project being targeted with deliberate criticism, it turned out to be the only source quenching the thirst of Telangana.
Referring to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) decision to draw 20 TMC of water to support the water supply in the twin cities, he pointed out that even though there were hunger strikes against the Mallanna Sagar, it emerged as the lifeline for the metropolitan city.
“Despite the venom spewed against it, Kaleshwaram is quenching Telangana’s thirst! Even though there were hunger strikes against Mallanna Sagar, today it is a boon for the city’s thirst!” he said. Criticising those who doubted the project’s efficacy, he said “Even though there was propaganda that the Kaleshwaram project wouldn’t work, it has turned Telangana into a green paradise!”
He called for an apology from those who spread falsities about the project and the alleged loss of a lakh crore rupees. “Even if they spend not just a thousand crores but a lakh crores, they can’t erase the identity of Telangana! They can’t change the mark KCR has made on the hearts of four crore people!” he stressed.
