Hyderabad: Rohit Sharma’s injury is not just a mystery to the Indian cricket fans but for the captain of Team India Virat Kohli as well. Speaking on the eve of their first ODI against Australia in Sydney, Kohli revealed they still feel Rohit would be on his way to Australia along with the team members.

The Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit picked up an injury during the Indian Premier League in UAE but he led his side in the last three matches of the league. And everyone thought Rohit was fine. “Before the selection meeting, we got a mail that he is unavailable, that he has picked up an injury during the IPL. It said that the pros and cons of the injury were explained to him and he understood and he was unavailable,” Kohli said.

“After that he played in the IPL and we all thought he would be on that flight to Australia and we had no information on why he is not travelling with us. There has been no information. There has been lack of clarity. We have been playing the waiting game,” he added.

Rohit, who is currently in National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru undergoing rehabilitation for hamstring injury, was expected to join the team for the red-ball series at least. However, sources in BCCI confirmed that he is out of Tests as well.
