Nalgonda: Even as the Congress infighting reached the doors of AICC headquarters in New Delhi, Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy hinted at his ambition to become Telangana Chief Minister. He said even God cannot stop him from becoming the Chief Minister if the opportunity comes, while promising to bring back “Rajanna Rajyam” (YSR’s rule) in the State.
Speaking at the death anniversary programme of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy in Munugode on Wednesday, Rajagopal Reddy reacted to “CM, CM” slogans raised by his followers and YSR supporters for him. “If that time comes, even Brahma cannot stop it,” he said. He also vowed to bring the Congress back to power in the next elections and continue “Rajanna Rajyam”, to establish YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s rule.
Calling himself a true disciple of YSR, Rajagopal Reddy said he entered politics inspired by the former Chief Minister and would work for his ideals throughout his political career. He also said he would not be deterred by conspiracies or threats and instead, would ensure justice to genuine Congress workers who had stood by the party for years.
He alleged that some leaders who had recently joined the party were seeking to capture the Congress and wield power, and warned that he would not remain a silent spectator.
