Hyderabad: In a twist to the ongoing verbal confrontation between Forest Minister Konda Surekha’s family and erstwhile Warangal Congress MLAs, former MLC Konda Murali lodged a counter complaint against a few MLAs with the TPCC’s Disciplinary Committee.

In a six-page complaint submitted to the Committee at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, the former MLC charged that Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari, Warangal East MLA Nayini Rajender Reddy, Parakal MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy, and others were indulging in anti-party activities.

Murali charged that Kadiyam Srihari was subjecting Indira, who fought against the former Minister from Ghanpur constituency in the assembly elections, to a lot of inconvenience. Revuri Prakash Reddy joined hands with local BRS leaders in conducting illegal crusher business in Parakal constituency, he complained.

This was after the TPCC Disciplinary Committee Chairman and Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi summoned the former MLC to appear before the committee following complaints against him from a few Warangal MLAs. Last Sunday, the MLAs had even met AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan and raised the Konda family issue.

For the last few days, Kadiyam Srihari, Nayini Rajender Reddy, MLC Basavaraju Saraiah, MLA KR Nagaraju, and others have been unhappy over the conduct of the Konda family. They complained that Konda Surekha and her husband Konda Murali were interfering in other constituencies’ matters.

The cold war between them escalated further during Rahul Gandhi’s birthday celebrations in Hanamkonda last fortnight.

Addressing party leaders, Konda Murali, in a veiled attack against Kadiyam Srihari, challenged turncoat MLAs to quit and contest the elections. Taking a dig at Parakal MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy, the former MLC said the MLA had pleaded for support in the Assembly elections, assuring that it would be his last contest.

Adding fuel to the escalating differences, Forest Minister Konda Surekha accused Kadiyam Srihari of falsely campaigning that she would be dropped from the cabinet. She also alleged that he was misleading Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Revenue Minister (Warangal in-charge Minister) Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.

The TPCC Disciplinary Committee sought versions from both sides. “Konda Murali gave his version, but it is not a clarification. In fact, we sought a written explanation from him within one week over the complaints against him,” Mallu Ravi said in an informal chat with media persons.

Later, speaking to media persons, Konda Murali stressed that he had immense respect for the Congress leadership, especially Rahul Gandhi. “I have no fear, even about cases. My conscience tells me whether I spoke right or wrong,” Konda Murali said.
