Konda Surekha cautions party opponents against targeting her followers

Former Minister Konda Surekha cautioned her political opponents against making irresponsible remarks about Konda family followers. She also addressed the delay in inaugurating the integrated district offices complex and urged Congress workers to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

Warangal: Former Minister Konda Surekha is at it again, hitting out at her political opponents in the party and cautioning them to be careful when dealing with her as well as her followers.

In remarks that were said to have been directed towards Congress MLC Baswaraju Saraiah and Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) chairperson Gundu Sudharani, she warned that if they tried to pull any stunts in front of the Konda family again, there would be no leniency.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Surekha commented that leaders who had recently risen to prominence were making a lot of noise. They must mind their language; if they spoke irresponsibly about any of the followers of the Konda family, they would be thrashed soundly wherever they were found.

Men would not even be needed to deal with them; women alone would be enough. “The women standing behind us were capable of the task; each one of them could take on four people. We have people with that kind of mettle and courage, so watch your tongues from now on,” Surekha cautioned.

Referring to BJP leaders’ allegations that the newly built integrated district offices complex (IDOC) was not yet functional even months after its completion, the former Minister said the facility could not be inaugurated because the contractor’s bill was pending.

Surekha called on party workers to strengthen the party at the grassroots level, with the upcoming corporation elections as the target. The party would win all 24 seats in Warangal (East) in the upcoming local body elections, she added.
