Warangal: The standoff between Forest Minister Konda Surekha and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy appears to be worsening, with the former accusing some Reddy leaders of attempting to damage her reputation.
“A few Reddy leaders are strongly lobbying to sabotage our supremacy in Warangal. I can take up any issue with the party high command directly. I do not have to lobby against anyone in Delhi or Hyderabad,” Konda Surekha, who also holds the Endowments portfolio, reportedly said.
During an informal interaction with mediapersons at Hanamkonda on Tuesday, she maintained that there were no differences over the Medaram Jatara tenders.
“Three prominent companies have filed their bids as per their eligibility. As a Minister, I and my senior officers should have notice of every aspect in my portfolio,” she said.
She alleged that deliberate attempts were being made to project all her works as controversial.
Referring to film actor A Nagarjuna’s family issue, she claimed that her remarks were misrepresented. “The comments I made in film actor Nagarjuna’s episode were different, but the way they were projected turned things controversial. I was very upset,” she said, adding that she was aware of her responsibilities as a Minister and wanted to focus on her portfolios.
