Kothagudem: Police seized 300 kg ganja worth Rs 60 lakh and arrested three persons, including a woman, at Bhachachlam in the district.
Speaking to press persons at Bhadrachalam on Saturday ASP, Dr Vineeth G, informed that the town SI, S Madhu Prasad and staff while conducting vehicle checking at forest check post found three persons moving suspiciously in a car and on a two-wheeler.
Upon inspection they found 300 kg of banned marijuana in their vehicles. Its value was around Rs. 60 lakh. The accused were identified as Aluri Jayamma, Seelam Rajasekhara Reddy and Sadham Satish from Tallada and Wyra mandals in Khammam district, the ASP said.
They confessed to the police that the cannabis was being smuggled from Telugu Camp area in Odisha to Hyderabad. Inspector of Police T Swamy, SI, Madhu Prasad and staff were present.
